Supreme Redesign

Supreme is an American clothing and skateboarding lifestyle brand established in New York City in April 1994. Over 25 years, Supreme has expanded from its New York City origins into a global community; working with generations of artists, photographers, designers, etc. who defied conventions and contributed to its unique identity and attitude.

Supreme Redesign

To assess the functionality and usability of the Supreme website, I conducted a series of user tests with real users. I screened the most suitable 4 participants from the 12 candidates, and collected the results of user tests from these 4 users to try to find out how user-friendly the site was. During this process, I was able to identify the pain points of users when using the site.

In order to accomplish this goal, I interviewed a participant via zoom. The participants were asked to do some tasks on the real website and they were encouraged to say everything they think out loud. After that, I asked users to complete a post-test questionnaire to collect their overall feedback and suggestions for this site.

Users come from a variety of professional backgrounds, with some having prior experience of shopping street fashion online and some not. Interestingly, during the process of think aloud, my participants mentioned many issues that I did not notice before. However, there are also findings that are consistent with our hypotheses, such as lack of filtering options, frustration with the way items are displayed, etc. The task that took users the longest was finding items that met specific requirements.

Through the think aloud test and SUS questionnaire, I found that there is plenty of room for improvement on the Supreme website. Although users can eventually find their desired destination, I determined that the current website was not intuitive. Participants gave similar feedback about what they disliked, which allowed us to quickly summarize the problems existing on the site.
